Our Commitment

CookAids is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our cooking tools, calculators, and content available to all users.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for all people.

CookAids is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address these gaps.

Measures We Have Taken

CookAids takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • All interactive calculators and tools are keyboard-navigable
  • Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • All images include descriptive alternative text
  • Form inputs are labeled with associated text descriptions
  • Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
  • The site is responsive and usable at up to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling
  • Semantic HTML is used throughout to support screen readers
  • ARIA landmarks are used to identify page regions

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Known limitations include:

  • Some older blog post content may not have fully optimized heading hierarchies
  • Certain interactive chart components may have limited screen reader support
  • Some third-party embedded content (such as Google AdSense) is outside our direct control

  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS) with Safari
